SLOW IT DOWN
* **Chill things out with Slow Mode.** Enabled, users will only be able to send messages every N seconds. Chaos control.
* **Message grouping is now in seven minute intervals** instead of every hour. This will make it clearer when you have larger time frames between sequential messages.
* **You can now paste GIFs into the text input** so you can better compose whatever unfunny thing you're trying to post.
* **Retina images render at higher pixel density now** rather than being rendered at peasant density.

FIX IT UP
* **Fixed a crash** when pruning large guilds and when voice chatting with Discord in the background. To be clear, less crashing is good.
* **Group DM icon was positioned badly** and we removed the badly.
* **Fixed a loading issue with settings.** They load now. I'm running out of ideas.
* **Nearby Friends** is no longer an entitled and ungrateful brat. Will not ask you for bluetooth access after you already gave it once.
* **Nearby Friends** will also no longer attempt to search with wifi off. What a weirdo.
* **Hey guess what NEARBY FRIENDS AGAIN.** Wumpus animation is cleaned up a bit.
* **No more ghost messages** reappearing in your text bar after you sent them. Way too spooky to keep in the app.

Discord

2.3.7 2018-08-29

- You can now add nearby people as friends with the power of WiFi and Bluetooth. Open the Add Friends screen and turn on the Nearby feature by tapping Find Friends. Stand near your IRL friend who also has this screen open and wait for them to magically appear on your screen. Keep the screen open otherwise the feature turns off.
- Autocomplete is now better at autopomcleting!
- The reactions pop-up underwent some performance improvements for those in servers with a million custom emoji.
- Quickswitcher now shows results properly. We've calmed the sickness that comes with the quickness.

Discord

2.3.6 2018-08-16

- You can now paste images into chat. If an image is worth a thousand words, you can now paste one thousand words into chat. If only you could post two or more pictures -- that’d be insane.
- Holy moly they did it. You can now post two or more pictures at once.
- Discord’s font just completed some hot yoga and will now scale based on your iOS system settings. It’s a good stretch.
- The chat view now shows these cool like fake blob things so Discord looks less sad when things are loading :^)
- Tapping a friend request push notification will now open the profile for that user so you can inspect before you accept or reject.

Discord

2.3.5 2018-07-13

***UPDATE***
- fixed bug where taking a picture in the app would sometimes lead to app crash

Discord

2.3.4 2018-07-07

- Group DM invites will embed in chat with a HOT NEW LOOK. Hot new looks are so in right now.
- The sign in screen will now show if you were invited through a Group DM so you know where you’re going. It’s like a map with only the destination very useful.
- The bar where you type words before sending them out into the world has an imperceivable HOT NEW LOOK. It’s hard to tell but trust us it’s better.
- The typing indicator will no longer hog the bed and push the chat bar up. I don’t really understand how the typing indicator would start on one side of the bed and go on some sort of odyssey to cross the great seas and move me so far that I’m literally free falling off the otherside into a puddle of floor smh. Glad it’s fixed.
- Autocomplete went through some self-help program, check it out:
- Autocomplete is no longer socially awkward and will leave instead of sticking around on screen sometimes.
- Autocomplete did hella push ups and is now bigger so it’s easier to tap on.
- Autocomplete animation is polished so that it can slide both up AND down. Multi Directional sliding!? That’s intense self-improvement.
- Fun fact, Discord has humans that build this mobile app. Come join our group of humans! Apply at https://discordapp.com/jobs maybe one day the app store will allow hyperlinks :^)

BETTER UNDER PRESSURE
- We did some heavy tinkering on Discord's core infrastructure. All the bullets in this section are related to this.
- Large servers perform better in general. CPU and network usage is about the same regardless of server size (whether a hundred people or a hundred thousand people).
- This means Discord uses a lot less data now. Long live your data plan.
- This also means Discord uses a lot less battery now. Longer live your battery life. Also, the iOS app loads faster.
- Large Discord servers can now grow much larger. This one's for you, Fortnite.
- Offline members are no longer hidden after you cross one-hundred members. We turned this off long ago for tech... and it is back. Offline lists in large servers are still hidden, though.
GOTTA GO FAST
- SLOW SUCKS, so quickly switch between servers, DMs, and channels with the all new and literally named Quick Switcher.
- Invite links now embed super cozy like a California king.
- Password Manager support on login for that easy yet secure access.
- You can now long press to copy links. **Long** awaited, amirite!?!?!??!!!!!
- Xbox users can now connect their Xbox account to Discord to show what game they're playing on Xbox in Discord.
- Invite links to voice channels now take you to the appropriate voice channel HOW CONVENIENT.
- NSFW channel toggle is now available in channel settings.

FEATUREZ
- Reactions are no longer a spooky mystery. Long press to see who reacted.
- You can now hide muted channels if you are TIRED OF LOOKING AT THEM.
- The server privacy settings are now same as desktop, so you can feel in power on the pooper.

BUG FIXEZ
- Removed voice engine crashes. Who put those there!?!?
- The over-eager red bar no longer stays at the top when you’ve exited a call.

Discord

2.3.0 2018-04-16

- You can now natively share things to Discord from the iOS share menu because you need to sling memes faster.
- Added mobile change logs… as in, this thing you’re reading right now.
- Added the Bug Hunter badge to user profiles because we need to recognize the squashers for all their squashin’ also their shoes are gross.
- Fixed an issue where the voice chat control panel got jammed and would not slide up. I’m also missing a stick of butter and I think I know why.
- Fixed a crash when you tried to save an image and you shouldn’t have been able to save the image in the first place you scoundrel.

Discord

2.2.9 2018-04-03

**UPDATES**
- Fixed double encoded URLs.
- Fixed constantly reconnecting issues in voice chat and more voice bug fixes when app going to background.

- Two major voice engine crashes have been conquered. Long live voice chat!
- Untangled some wires that caused you to not hear audio when joining a channel while muted.
- The dark side has completely and entirely consumed the iOS app. And by that, I mean the app is now 100% themed whether you’re on light or dark theme.
- Discord can now tell the difference between two or more channels with the same name when you wanna link to them (#whytho and #whytho). It’s hard raising twins.
- Server owners and group DM now show a crown next to their name so you know who the server or group DM owner is. Functional *and* stylish.
- Fixed a crash that happened when deleting a message. Crazy stuff happens when you try to TURN BACK TIME.
- Channel icons will now show what kind of channel it is so you know what you're getting into (NSFW) or not getting into (private).
- The move member permission now works.

Words:
- Discord now opens links right inside itself using your default browser. NEVER LEAVE ME.
- So, hold on. Can you open a Discord link inside the browser? And then open a link inside that Discord instance which is an instance inside the initial link you tapped on from your original Discord instance? I think we’ve stumbled onto an awesome movie concept. Someone send Christopher Nolan a DM.
- Moving on, we’ve upgraded WebRTC and improved performance/infrastructure which means everything gets a little bit more buttery. Now, hand me some paper towels.
- At long last - you can now manage your connections settings on mobile. You guys have been waiting for this… right?
- Continuing with the shadowy consumption of all screens, the change nickname screen now respects your theme selection.

More Words:
- Large video files no longer make the iOS share menu cry and run away (crash).
- Instant invites with /invite will properly teleport you to the server you’re trying to access.

Discord

2.2.4 2018-02-22

** General bug fixes **

So hot right now:
- Discord is now a share option in the iOS share into menu because sharing is caring and we care about you, bb.
- Discord now remembers what server and channel you were last viewing when you reopen the app. It’s like saving your game except Discord is not a video game and I’m too tired to think of a good metaphor.
- We now show you an instant invite after you make a server so you can invite friends faster than Scorpion can say “get over here.”
- We now use revolutionary PNG technology instead of JPG, so you’ll see fewer broken avatars and server icons.
- Added the Verified Server icon because it should be there.
- More parts of the app now respect your theme choice.

These bugs got slapped:
- Fixed an issue with text channel links that were unable to be tapped upon. Tapping shall commence once again.
- Our internal ghost hunters fixed an issue where invites to voice channels would create “ghost” text channels. Finally earning their keep, I guess. I just wish they didn’t smell like warm butter and fresh mulch. The real question is when to kill a joke. I’d say, now is a good time.
- Fixed a strange issue where blocking someone broke swiping around the app.
- Cleaned up a crash where tapping someone somewhere when something wasn’t loaded sometimes didn’t like that and blew up. Less blewing up.

- The blight is spreading. Even more screens now respect dark theme.
- We've updated our codec to Opus 1.2! Experience the audio experience better than you've ever experienced it before.
- You can now switch between bluetooth and speaker during a call instead of not being able to do this.
- Tapping someone who’s actively streaming used to crash the app. We decided this isn't healthy and removed this crash. We hope you understand.
- Fixed some issues with rich embeds not richly embedding things. These jokes are all the same, I’m sorry.
- Fixed some crashes in search. Less chance for crash.
- Most importantly, fixed an egregious issue where selected servers remained circles instead of rounded squares. Designers across the world let out a resounding sigh of relief.

Discord

2.2.1 2018-01-22

NEW STUFF
- Animated Emoji are now supported! Move and groove your emotional mood.
- We did some heavy construction work and rebuilt the foundation of our chat. Now it’s better, you’re welcome.
- We added a little welcome message to the beginning of text chats so that you feel slightly more at home!

FIXED STUFF
- Tapping links in an embed description now properly open the link in your browser.
- Lower the anchor! Chat position will no longer jump around when new messages come in.
- Raise the anchor! Sending a message or file while scrolled up will return you to the bottom of the chat.
- Rich embeds that shouldn’t be hyperlinks no longer look like hyperlinks. Can’t fool me!!! HAHAHA
